Veterinary Ultrasound Imaging
Ultrasound imaging includes abdominal and chest ultrasonography, as well as the use of ultrasound technology to diagnose irregularities and ailments in almost all parts of the animal's body. Ultrasound technology is based on sending sound waves, in frequencies that are not audible to humans and pets, into the body tissues, collecting the reflection of these waves from the tissues, and processing them through a sophisticated software into images that are representative of the physical status of the tissues and organs. This way, we can differentiate abnormalities from normal status. Ultrasounds are proven to be a non–invasive procedure which can be performed fairly easily on pets with minimal restraint either at the pet clinic, or at home.
